Initial Phone or Email Discussion (Free)
When you first get in touch, we'll ask about your project: the type of work you're considering (extension, conversion, new build), your approximate timescale and your property location. This brief conversation helps us understand whether your project aligns with our expertise and service area.
Free Home Assessment (Within 45 Minutes of Taunton)
For properties within 45 minutes' drive of Taunton, we offer a complimentary site visit lasting approximately 45-60 minutes. During this meeting, we will:
- Discuss how you want your home to function for your family
- Assess your property's architectural character and constraints
- Identify planning considerations or potential challenges
- Explore layout options and design approaches
- Provide realistic ball-park construction cost guidance
- Explain the design and planning process with typical timescales
Written Fee Proposal
Following our visit, you'll receive a written quotation within 5-7 working days outlining our fees for each project stage (architectural design, planning and detailed construction drawings) with complete transparency. No obligation to proceed.
Primary Service Area (Free Home Visits)
We regularly undertake projects throughout Taunton, Bridgwater, Wellington, Chard, Ilminster, Yeovil, Somerton, Langport and surrounding Somerset villages. Free home assessments are available for properties within approximately 45 minutes' drive of our Taunton office.
Projects Outside 45-Minute Radius
For properties further afield in Somerset, Devon or Dorset, we can arrange site visits for a nominal fee (credited against design fees if you proceed), or conduct initial consultations via video call with photographs before deciding whether an in-person visit would be valuable.
Extended Coverage Area
We also work extensively across South Devon (Honiton, Axminster, Seaton, Sidmouth areas) and West Dorset (Sherborne, Beaminster, Lyme Regis, Bridport areas), with site visits arranged by appointment.

Over 27 years, we've secured planning approvals and Listed Building Consent from over seven Planning Authorities and now cover Somerset district councils (Somerset Council, formerly Taunton Deane, South Somerset, Mendip, Sedgemoor), North Somerset, East Devon District Council, Mid Devon District Council and West Dorset District Council.
