Interactive 3D Models: Walk Through Your Design Before Building

What Are 3D Live-View Models?

3D live-view models are interactive digital representations of your proposed extension, conversion or new build that you can explore in real-time using any computer, tablet or smartphone.

Unlike static images, you control the viewpoint - walking through rooms, testing sight-lines from different positions and adjusting the sun angle to understand natural lighting at different times of day. We provide simplified block-form models as standard, showing spatial relationships, room sizes and external form. Photorealistic rendered versions are available as an optional upgrade.

Why Interactive 3D Models Matter for Your Project

Understand Spatial Relationships

Floor plans show dimensions but can't convey how a space will actually feel. 3D models let you experience ceiling heights, room proportions and circulation flow before construction.

Evaluate Natural Light

Adjust the sun position to understand daylight penetration throughout the day. Particularly valuable for extensions where window placement affects natural light in existing rooms.

Make Informed Decisions Early

Identify potential issues while changes are simple sketch adjustments rather than expensive construction modifications. Clients can refine window positions, ceiling heights or room layouts after exploring models.

Support Planning Applications

3D views help planning officers and neighbours visualise proposals, particularly for complex designs or sensitive locations where understanding three-dimensional impact matters.

Included As Standard in Every Project

All design projects receive at least one 3D live-view model showing your proposal in simplified block form with basic colours. This model is accessible via web link throughout the design process, updated if the design develops and expenditure allows.

For projects requiring enhanced visualisation - Listed Building applications, complex extensions or client preference - we can upgrade to colourised models with material textures or fully photorealistic renderings showing detailed finishes, landscaping and lighting (additional fees apply).

How to Navigate 3D Models on Any Device

Access your model via the web link we provide - no software installation required. The model loads in your browser and runs on desktop computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

Computer (Mouse & Keyboard):

-Rotate: Click and drag

- Zoom: Scroll wheel, or Ctrl + click

- Pan: Shift + click and drag

- Sun position: Alt/Option + click

Tablet/Smartphone (Touch):

- Rotate: Single finger drag

- Zoom: Pinch two fingers together/apart

- Pan. Two-finger swipe

Tip: Use full-screen mode (button in corner) for easier navigation. iPads provide the smoothest experience for touch-based navigation.

Performance Note: Model responsiveness depends on your device specifications. Newer devices with dedicated graphics perform best; older smartphones may experience slower frame rates.
